Incredible Spiti – a road trip

Next day we trekked for a couple of hours deeper into the valley before returning back to Mudh and starting our journey to Kaza – the district headquarters of Spiti valley.

Kaza is a busy town probably one of the biggest ones we saw ever since we left Rampur. Being at an elevation of 3650m, this is one of the highest altitude towns even higher than Leh the capital of Laddakh, at 3524m.

Key Gompa

The picture above is of Ki monastery (also known as Kee or Key monastery) which built on top of a hillock with Spiti in the backdrop, creates a scenery coming straight out of the fairy tales.
